Identity-Centered Options for Survivors

Support that recognizes who you are and what you need

There are multiple pathways to services that are responsive to different identities and life experiences. You are welcome to explore any option that feels relevant to you. There is no right or wrong place to start.

For Male Survivors

Sexual violence affects people of all identities, ages, and backgrounds. Your experiences, concerns, and needs matter, and support should reflect that. Sexual violence can happen to people of all genders. If you identify as a man or boy, you may face unique barriers to seeking help or talking about what happened.

SATC offers confidential support, medical care, and counseling for male survivors at any age. You do not need to explain or justify your experience to receive care.

You can access:

  • 24/7 hotline support

  • Medical forensic exams

  • Crisis counseling and therapy

For LGBTQ+ Survivors

If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, nonbinary, or questioning, you deserve support that respects your identity and lived experience.

SATC provides affirming, inclusive care for LGBTQ+ survivors, including support around concerns related to disclosure, safety, identity, and accessing services.

You can expect:

  • Respect for your name, pronouns, and identity

  • Confidential, nonjudgmental support

  • Advocacy tailored to your needs

For Survivors with Disabilities

People with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities experience sexual violence at higher rates and may face additional barriers to getting help.

SATC works to provide accessible, respectful support and can help coordinate accommodations, communication support, and advocacy as needed.

Support may include:

  • Assistance understanding options and consent

  • Medical care with accessibility needs in mind

  • Counseling adapted to individual abilities

For Survivors Age 60 and Older

Sexual violence can happen at any age. Older survivors may have specific concerns related to health, independence, caregiving relationships, or reporting.

SATC offers support that respects your autonomy, privacy, and choices—whether you want immediate help or simply information.

Support includes:

  • Confidential crisis support

  • Medical care and counseling

  • Help understanding options without pressure

You Don’t Have to Fit a Category to Get Help

These sections are meant to help you find information more easily, not to limit your options. If more than one section feels relevant, that’s okay. If none of them do, that’s okay too.
